Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover

Two semesters project to make an essay entitled "Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover". It's an individual project to know how powerful a book cover design is for chick lit genre novels. It's a genre from women to women age 20s - 60s. I was doing research about what's going on at book cover design field and chick lit, then created questionnaires and spread it to 60 female respondents from different countries, ages, and professions. The conclusion is book cover design is a powerful marketing and selling tool, but the story and author name is more important than book cover design.

This is also part of the self promo. We had to make one self directed project. I was collaborating with my friend to make one children picture book. My friend is a children book writer in Indonesia. Now the book has been published in Indonesia since March 2011.

The first picture is the result I submitted for uni project, while the second picture is the one they published in Indonesia.

Typography class project to make one book related to the subject. I chose to make one book about dingbats and its usage. The reason is because it's also the family of typefaces but we rarely see any book about this little-but-actually-useful thing. Inside the book, you may see the DIY to use dingbats in simple design like your personal birthday invitation.
